法然院の個展を終えてから1ヶ月以上が過ぎました。

2019年の初めての法然院での個展に気をよくして2年後に開催するつもりだったのですが、パンデミックにより今回の開催となりました。

前回、訪れた西洋人が親しく接してくれる気持ちに沿えないもどかしさを感じて、挨拶文や展示品の説明に加え、哲学の道に沿って流れる疎水の歴史などを日本文の下に英文で書く工夫をしました。

久しぶりの京都での個展でしたから、そして大好きな南アルプスの連嶺を間近に望む場所に移住した報告もあってこれまで以上の方々に連絡しました。懐かしい方々にお会いすることができ感動の6日間でした。

It has been more than a month since my solo exhibition at Honen-in Temple. Encouraged by my first solo exhibition at Honen-in Temple in 2019, I had planned to hold another one two years later, but the pandemic forced me to hold it this time.

I felt frustrated that I could not live up to the friendly welcome that foreign visitors had shown me last time, so in addition to greetings and explanations of the exhibits, I made the effort to write in English below the Japanese text the history of the canal that runs along the Philosopher’s Path.

It had been a long time since my last solo exhibition in Kyoto, and I had also announced that I had moved to a place where I could see my beloved Southern Alps up close, so I contacted more people than ever before. It was an emotional six days, as I was able to meet people I had missed.
